Hi I’m Alexandra!

I began my herbalism journey 10 years ago, inspired by my grandmother and the wise women in my Romanian heritage. For the last 8 years I have been teaching workshops on herbal medicine, nature connection and wilderness skills. I offer workshops at my home, local organizations and farms in the lower Hudson Valley with the intention to create and support our connection to local communities and plants.

I work with herbs in ways that encourage us to:

  • Engage with the synergies of the whole plant and its constituents

  • Make gentle, nourishing remedies that uniquely support each individual

  • Create a purposeful and responsible relationship with plants that fosters curiosity, kindness and simplicity

  • Build confidence and competence for the at-home herbalist; empowering each student to bring herbalism into their home through hands-on experience

  • Keep herbalism accessible to everyone

TESTIMONIALS

“Taking a class with Alex feels like coming home. I have been fortunate enough to attend sounds baths, moon lodges, hiking/yoga retreats, zoom sessions and weekends with Alex - in inside spaces, outside spaces and even at her own home. She makes any space feel sacred and reveres all that move and live within it. She treats every person and every situation with respect and care. No matter where or who you are, she meets you there. Working with Alex is just that, working "with" her. In addition to her wealth of knowledge and experience she brings curiosity, reflectiveness and a work hard and purposefully ethic. It's hard to capture Alex's energy in words, you have to be around it to feel it for yourself!” - Sarah, Student

“Alex is gifted and intuitive teacher. I could best describe it as practical magic. Get down into the soil and plants and forget everything you thought you knew about yourself. The power of the ordinary which is quite extraordinary when engaging with proper intention and attention. I did things I never thought possible for me to do because we acted as one; sharing knowledge, support and experience. It was transformational and I came out the other side with expanded herbal knowledge, a new career, and the confidence to hike in the dark. Giggles, tears, medicine and magic in a beautiful lovingly cultivated container by Alex.” - Catherine, Herbal Mentorship Student

“Her knowledge of plants, herbal remedies, wilderness survival, and the rich history behind these healing practices is incredible and vast. Her style of teaching is flexible and mindfully adapted to each student.” Sarah, Mentorship Student, Previous Student

“Alex is extraordinarily knowledgable in the realms of herbalism, mindfulness and nature connection, but still leaves room to learn with you as a mentee. It makes the perfect container for work like this! Alex guides and teaches with tenderness, confidence and wonder. She strikes the perfect balance between providing support when it's needed, and offering space to explore and discover on your own. It's a big, wide world to play in and Alex is honestly the best mentor to have by your side if you're jumping in for the first time, or continuing on your path. I've really cherished this mentorship, and will be working with Alex again.” - Ashley, Herbal Mentorship Student

“Alex has a way of sharing plants and magic in a way that captures a wealth of information but also a personal and intimate knowing that guided me into much more meaningful relationships with herbal allies.” - Lily, Student and Herbal Mentorship Student
